Taking care of yourself

Mental heath is important as your physical health. From an early age our boys have been going to psychology appointments. The result of that has been the introduction of calm boxes, charts to help communicate their feelings and other mindful resources. Recognising the signs of stress, fatigue and worry is not always easy but as parents we have been getting better at it.

We try set screen time limits, setting boundaries but encouraging independence and freedom where possible. All I can say is that I'm thankful for mental health plans - these appointments aren't cheap.
