New addions to the family
About two years ago, the house next door was in the process of being built. As they laid the foundations, the concrete somehow got into the sewage system and clogged the pipes.
Our chicken shed laid on the easement and to get to the pipes the water company had to move it. So, we gave our four chickens to our grandfather and waited until the work was done.
Once the shed was back, we realised that some repairs needed to be made. I also wanted to get a automatic door for the coup so I didn't have to let out the chickens in the morning and put them away at night. We finally got that door and so this weekend we got four new Isabrown hens.
The kids were excited to go to the chicken farm and select them, their names are Floppy, Bluebell, Lucy and Snowdrop.
With the success of that procurement, I decided to see if I could pick up the electric piano that our Grandmother had spare. The only problem was that it was upstairs at their old house. I got half of it down myself but I needed help with the other half. We were looking at buying a electric piano brand new for $2,000 but this was only going to cost us $200. Although the newer one would have felt more realistic having one which the kids can smash and bash while they learn is much more appealing. Plus, we can spend some money on other projects around the house. We have already had it for 1 day and the boys have started to play "Mary had a little lamb" with the self help books we kept.
I can't believe how much sheet music I have! I'm amazed how much I can still play - especially having not really taken formal lessons or been around a piano for years. I have a guitar and I can play a few songs but I don't like the feel of the strings. It's much easier to play the piano.
