Sunset on the old to make way for the new
The years are stacking up. We are going through paperwork and finding that items we thought we bought just a few years ago are actually close to 20 years old. Time flies when you are having fun but I don't remember having much fun.
Still, it's been good of late to let go of some items that we've been holding onto for a while. Everything in your house has an expiry date and it's up to you to decide when it's past it's used by date. I was glad to get rid of some old technology via online sales for cheap. I probably would have got rid of them for free but getting a token amount makes it sweeter to get rid of.
The council pick up of large rubbish (or Hard Rubbish) is another great opportunity to get rid of items you no longer need - and it's so liberating. It's like cleaning off the barnacles of your ship to give it a new lease on life. Simply put, you don't need that in your life and time to give it the boot.
The girls even liked taking their old bunk bed, balance bike, cot and baby seat to the curb. Yellow was a little sad and she insisted that we take photos. Rachel and I were a little nostalgic as getting rid of the baby stuff was the end of an era for us.
